Cookies and on-device storage
This page lists the cookies that may appear when you visit, and how to turn ad personalization off. Tool input is not stored in a cookie.

Cookies set by this site
Language is chosen by the URL (Chinese has no prefix, English lives under /en), not by a cookie. Theme, fullscreen preference and the draft switch live in localStorage, which is also not a cookie.
If the browser shows tracking or advertising cookies, they come from the third-party scripts below, not from the site’s own application code.
What is in localStorage
devkit-theme is light or dark. devkit-focus-mode is whether tools open fullscreen. devkit-draft-cache is the draft switch. devkit-draft:* stores a tool’s input only after you turn draft caching on. devkit-focus-tip-seen records that the fullscreen hint was dismissed.
These values stay in your browser. Clearing site data deletes them, and the tools still work.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics 4 may set cookies such as _ga, _ga_* and _gid to tell browsers apart, estimate visits, and tie page views in one session together. How long they last is decided by Google; commonly that is hours up to fourteen months.
These cookies do not contain what you typed into a tool.
Advertising cookies
Google AdSense and its partners may set advertising cookies such as IDE, DSID, __gads and __gpi. The names change as Google’s products change. They remember ad preferences on a browser, limit how often the same ad is shown, and measure whether an ad was seen.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use these cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this site or other sites. Google and its partners can use them to show ads on this site and elsewhere on the Internet.
You can turn personalized ads off in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of cookie-based personalized advertising from third-party vendors at aboutads.info. You may still see ads that are not based on your interests.
Clearing them yourself
Delete cookies and site data for happytool.org in the browser settings, or block third-party cookies. Blocking analytics and ad scripts does not stop the tools from calculating. Formatting, encoding and text tools still run locally.
